How it works
Designed to improve your life by changing the way you walk, Skechers Tone Ups - Fun Flops feature a unique, soft kinetic wedge insert and dynamic rolling bottom to simulate walking barefoot on a surface that gives, such as sand.
With the comfort of Skechers Tone Ups - Fun Flops, you will feel your heel sink to the ground as you step, roll forward as your weight shifts to its center, and push off with your toes. This movement will result in stronger leg, buttocks, back, and abdominal muscles as you stabilize your steps.
Due to this unconventional manner of walking, we suggest that you moderate your walking routine in Skechers Tone Ups - Fun Flops for the first week or two (25 to 45 minutes per day), depending on your level of fitness. As you continue to wear Skechers Tone Ups - Fun Flops, your body will adjust to this new method of walking. You will find it easy and comfortable while still enjoying the strengthening and cardiovascular benefits.
Tone up while you standConventional footwear does not provide proper support or aide in correct posture for long periods of standing. With Skechers Tone Ups - Fun Flops, the simulation of soft ground will ease the stress on your joints, promote correct posture, and strengthen selected muscles as you naturally work to keep your centre of balance.
To properly stand in your Skechers Tone Ups - Fun Flops, stand fully upright and find your center of balance with your feet parallel and hip-distance apart.
Tone up while you walk
To walk correctly in Skechers Tone Ups - Fun Flops, step forward with the middle section of your heel hitting the ground first. This should give you the feeling of walking on soft ground. Roll forward onto the ball of your food and then the flat part of your toes.
Your stance should not be as wide as you walk. Your front foot should still be under your body, giving you a natural and comfortable step. This rhythmic and easy gait will help you maintain your balance. For maximum benefit, strike heel first. Then roll forward.

Get in the routine
As you walk in Skechers Tone Ups - Fun Flops, be aware of the position of your shoes and ankles. Your ankles should not roll or bend inward, but remain parallel.
The position of your back and neck should be straight. Do not look down; look ahead to where you are going. This will keep your posture straight, resulting in tightening of your back and stomach muscles, and the lengthening of your body into a leaner line.
While a natural pace is best for everyday walking, we suggest you switch up your gait -- slowing down to focus on your steps, or kicking it up a notch to get your blood flowing.

Good in principle - but not for narrow feet!!!
I bought myself a pair of these a few weeks ago, thought the idea behind them was brilliant. When they arrived they weren't the most attractive footwear I'd ever seen, but they were OK and if they did the job I wasn't really bothered how they looked. However when i tried them on, they had huge gaps between the strap and my foot with no way of tightening them up. I do have quite narrow feet, but not exceptionally and have always been able to wear normal high street shoes and flip flops but these were REALLY wide! I tried to walk in them but my foot kept slipping out and I was in serious danger of breaking my ankle by falling off the big platform sole! So be warned - if you have narrow feet these shoes are a definate no no!
Very comfy!
I've only had these for a few days but will say that they are a very comfortable flip flop ! Don't know if they will help tone me up like they state, only time will tell, but are nice and comfy mainly due to the spongy type insole, and also are quite soft around the toe post, unlike lots of other flip flops i've tried,so i've been able to keep them on all day from day one,and not had to' break them in' like others in the past! So if they help tone me up too that's a bonus !!!

They are cheaper than Fitflops, but unfortunately they are not nearly so comfortable. They tend to rub between the toes and mine are coming unstitched after one wear! You definitely get what you pay for. Sorry Skechers but I'm afraid its Fitflops every time.
